one or two of the crew of the mail boat are

kindly allowed to assist in packing up.

There is also the writing up of the

letters in Chinese- & this could not be done by

the Marine Officer.

The increased correspondence has

rendered the work difficult to be got through

in the time, & as happened recently, the Marine

Officer having fallen ill the mail was brought to

Hongkong unsorted- a cause of grumble if repeated.
